Rental cars are available from this Web site. Getting around: The easiest way around this large resort is by shuttle bus, which transports guests to dine and play golf or tennis. Off the property, the nearest boutique and restaurant area is a third of a mile away and exclusive Worth Ave is a mile so many opt to drive rather than walk. Driving also allows leisurely travel along A1A for the ocean views and faster travel along the main arteries for access to the Everglades and other cities including Boca Raton.

The Flagler Steakhouse - Located in the golf clubhouse, this handsomely appointed traditional steakhouse features succulent steaks and chops. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner. The Breakers is considered by many to be the quintessential Palm Beach resort. The original hotel was built in 1896 by Henry Morrison Flagler (a partner to John D. Rockefeller in the oil business) and though the original hotel was lost twice to fire, the current resort has been around since 1926, welcoming the rich and famous for more than 75 years. The extraordinary main building has an Italian Renaissance exterior and an interior that boasts Venetian chandeliers, gold-leaf ceilings, and ceilings that were hand-painted by Florentine artists. A series of renovations and expansions have updated the resort, which sits on 140 acres of oceanfront property, and it now offers 36 holes of championship golf, 10 tennis courts, four heated pools, a luxury spa, and a fitness center with a stunning ocean view. Staff members speak a total of more than 25 languages, so celebrities and well-heeled individuals from all over the world can order cocktails from their poolside cabana without fear of being misunderstood. The highlight of this historic seaside resort is, for many guests, the two championship 18-hole golf courses owned by the property—one of which is a redesigned version of the oldest existing course in Florida. Four heated pools on site mean guests can swim in freshwater or in the sea, and an award-winning tennis facility provides 10 Har-Tru courts as well as clinics, a pro shop, and expert instruction. Additional activities include bicycling, health and fitness classes, croquet, beach volleyball, lawn bowling, horseshoes, and water aerobics.
